Function of myristoyl hexapeptide-4 for improvement of skin

Introduction 

Myristoyl hexapeptide-4, a stabilized peptide, is a synthetic peptide containing lysine, threonine and serine residues, which is classified as cosmetic peptide that has many useful effects in our daily life, such as anti-wrinkles, anti-aging, increasing the elastic of the skin and so on. Myristoyl hexapeptide-4 can stimulate production of collagens and maintain balance of extracellular matrix proteins, and is expected to be added in to the skin care product for the improvement of the problems of skin, owing to its magical properties of anti-wrinkle, anti-aging, renewing skin more elastic, making the skin firmer and repairing and filling the skin fine lines.

Anti-aging action

As we all know, the perfect conditions of skin is so important that can make us feel good, confident and comfortable. Anti-aging is the primary driver for the cosmetic industry and, now more than ever, adults in all age categories are seeking solutions to address the visible signs of aging. Recently, in order to improve skin conditions, such as wrinkles, lines, elasticity, etc., various proteins and peptides have been developed. One of the peptides is Myristoyl hexapeptide-4, possessed above function, and used to penetrate into skin, which is resistant to enzyme degradation. It mimics action of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), activating synthesis of collagen (a proteins can make the skin plum and elastic) by activating TGF-β receptor type II (TβRII). It increases production and synthesis of collagen to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve tone, texture and elastic of skin.

Function

Myristoyl hexapeptide-4 has a novel liposome oligopeptide (liposome-like structure) with anti-aging function, promoting cell regeneration, accelerating repair of damaged skin, and helping rebuild skin's protective barrier. Furthermore, it not only has some functions such as anti-aging, firming skin and reducing formation of fine lines and wrinkles, but also has some properties of skin-friendly and easily to absorb. Therefore, it can be as an ingredient add into the skin care products especially cosmetic products to perform its function and improve the conditions of the skin.
