Teduglutide

Teduglutide is a polypeptide consisting of 33 amino acids. It is glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) analogue that is used for the treatment of short bowel syndrome.

This causes uterus contractions and prevents excessive bleeding after childbirth, particularly following Cesarean section, and may be used to decrease blood loss during hysteroscopic myomectomy.

Lanreotide inhibits the secretion of growth hormone (GH) by binding to pituitary somatostatin receptors, and may inhibit the release of various other hormones, including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and the gastroenteropancreatic hormones insulin, glucagon and gastrin.
