GLYCINE (13C2,2,2-D2,15N) is an isotopically labeled glycine in which the carbon backbone is enriched with 13C (two labeled carbons), the amino acid bears deuterium at the 2,2-positions, and the nitrogen is labeled with 15N. The molecule retains the free amino (-NH2) and carboxyl (-COOH) functional groups characteristic of glycine, with the isotopic substitutions replacing the corresponding atoms without changing the overall amino acid connectivity. It is used for isotopic tracing, quantitative mass spectrometry and NMR method development, and labeling-based studies of amino acid incorporation, peptide formation, or analytical differentiation where the mass shift from 13C/15N and the altered vibrational signatures from deuterium are monitored.
