N-α-Z-N-δ-Boc-L-ornithine dicyclohexylamine salt

N-α-Z-N-δ-Boc-L-ornithine dicyclohexylamine salt is a protected, amino-acid derivative of L-ornithine in which the α-amino group is carbobenzyloxy (Z/Cbz) protected and the δ-amino side chain is tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc) protected, while the carboxylate remains present as part of the salt form. The molecule therefore bears a free carboxyl functionality and two protected amines, with the Z group providing a benzylic carbamate and the Boc group providing a tert-butyl carbamate that modulates chemoselectivity during peptide-related transformations. As a dicyclohexylamine salt, it is commonly handled as a stable, isolable intermediate for stepwise peptide synthesis or for preparing ornithine-containing peptide analogues and other amino-acid derivatives where orthogonal protection of α- and side-chain amines is required for controlled coupling and subsequent deprotection.
