Z-Asp(OtBu)-OSu is a protected aspartic acid derivative in which the α-amino group is carbobenzyloxy-protected (Z/Cbz) and the side-chain carboxyl is tert-butyl protected (Asp(OtBu)), while the activated ester functionality is presented as an N-hydroxysuccinimide (OSu) ester. The molecule contains a Cα stereocenter consistent with aspartate substitution patterns, bears a tert-butyl-protected γ-carboxyl group and an OSu leaving group on the carboxyl activation site, and includes the benzyloxycarbonyl protecting group to control chemoselectivity during peptide coupling.
