ALGAL AMINO ACID MIXTURE (U-D; U-15N) contains a mixture of amino acids derived from algal sources in which the amino acid carbon framework is uniformly deuterated (U-D) and the nitrogen atoms are uniformly 15N-labeled (U-15N), providing isotopically substituted analogues of proteinogenic amino acids. Each amino acid component retains the amino and carboxyl functional groups characteristic of amino acids, with side-chain functionality corresponding to the specific amino acid types present in the mixture while the isotopic substitution alters NMR and mass spectrometric signatures without changing connectivity. The labeled mixture is used in isotopic tracing, quantitative LC-MS or GC-MS method development, and structural or metabolic studies where differential detection of deuterium and 15N incorporation into amino acid pools and related peptide or metabolite derivatives is monitored.
