Phenylsulfonyl-Sar-OH

Phenylsulfonyl-Sar-OH is a protected amino acid derivative featuring the Sar (sarcosine) amino acid framework bearing a phenylsulfonyl substituent on the nitrogen and a free carboxylic acid (-COOH) at the C-terminus. The molecule contains an N-sulfonamide functionality (phenylsulfonyl-NH-) that modifies the amino group's reactivity while presenting the carboxyl group for coupling, and the sulfonyl group provides chemoselective control by reducing undesired amine-based side reactions relative to an unprotected amino acid.
