Trt-Gln(Trt)-OH · DEA is a protected glutamine derivative in which the side-chain amide is retained while both the α-amino functionality and the side-chain are masked by trityl (Trt) protecting groups, and the carboxyl group is present as a free acid (-OH). The molecule contains protected amino and amide-associated nitrogen atoms bearing trityl groups, and it is supplied as a complex/salt with diethylamine (DEA), which is consistent with an amine counterion environment that can influence handling and solubility. In peptide chemistry, this kind of trityl-protected amino acid building block is used as a precursor for stepwise assembly of glutamine-containing peptide sequences and for preparing protected intermediates where chemoselective deprotection and coupling control are required.
