Z-L-Leucine dicyclohexylamine salt

Z-L-Leucine dicyclohexylamine salt is a protected, amino-acid derivative of L-leucine in which the amino group is present as a Z (benzyloxycarbonyl/Cbz-type) carbamate and the carboxyl group is paired as a dicyclohexylamine salt. The molecule therefore bears a Z-protected nitrogen with a benzyloxycarbonyl functionality, a free or salt-associated carboxylate region, and the characteristic leucine side chain with an isobutyl group, while the stereochemistry is specified as L for the amino-acid backbone. In synthesis and peptide chemistry workflows, this salt form and N-protection arrangement are used to control chemoselectivity and to support stepwise handling of the amino-acid unit as a precursor to more complex amino-acid and peptide derivatives.
